Joint Ventures and Online Promotions

Marketing Online effectively requires a combination of things to come together at the right time to ensure a modicum of success.

Many Marketers choose to form joint ventures with other online entities to promote their product or service.

We all know that joint ventures can be and often are very successful as it gives you exposure to a larger audience than you might otherwise have available to you.

But…The thing that concerns me the most is this; Often many joint venture partners have not personally tried and or used the product or service they are promoting yet they talk about it in glowing terms.

Some can’t even be bothered to rewrite the promo letter provided to them by the products creator.

I personally am turned off by these tactics and whilst I am a seasoned marketer and understand what is going on I wonder how many potential clients are frightened off as well?

Online business is no different to offline business, your credibility is very important and your longevity in the industry will be determined by how you manage yourself in front of your potential clients.

So why is it that so many marketers clearly with a good level of skill and knowledge damage their future by trying to ride the wave of the “next big thing”

Just my two cents for today!

Contents of My Inbox Today

It does not seem to matter how much work you put into securing your email system those dreaded *spammers* continue to get their message through regardless whilst legitimate mail get’s chewed up and dumped into the junk file.

What does one have to do I wonder to take control of there own inbox?

Just today I have received more *junk* than I care to count and although there is a fear that this unwanted mail may be dragging some unknown nasties into my system a bigger concern is the amount of time you have to spend deleting the rubbish and searching for the mail you really want.

I would be interested to find out how you deal with the problem?

Keywords Have Value at Any Rank

I read a very interesting article about Keywords today at clickz.com and some of their comments follow…

Keyword campaigns succeed at any level if marketers understand how a rank’s behavior fits with strategic goals. DoubleClick’s “Performics 50: Search Trend Report” for Q4 2005 identifies some trends in the young SEM industry.

While search and keyword campaigns increased, the cost-per-keyword (CPK) and cost-per-click (CPC) rose 114 percent in the fourth quarter. Over the holidays, the average CPK shot up from a September rate of $25.50 to $54.62 in December. The increase is likely due to seasonal effects and a decline in the use of lower-priced keywords.

You will find this report enlightening especially if you run CPC campaigns of any type.

Work Continues

It’s Just Not Meant to Be…

I am trying to find my way around Wordpress 2.0 after spending the last three days at a Conference and now I am fighting off a head cold as well…

It is quite different to Wordpress 1.5 that I have been used to for some time now.

A clear mind would certainly help, I think I will have to abandon my plan to officially launch today and resume later after the medication takes effect, where would we be without the Good Ol Whisky Bottle!!

Day One…Just My View

What is this all about?

Well I have decided to chart on a frequent basis my views, opinions and thoughts about life as an Internet Marketer.

Discussion about those things that bother me, the day to day dramas that we all seem to experience and hopefully a few words of success as well.

Follow along and let’s see what develops.
